An independent and selective RP blog for Dr Albert Wesker from Capcom's Resident Evil. Infected by Ireannis.

WARNING. Resident Evil is a horror franchise which contains extreme and disturbing themes (violence, gore, experimentation, trafficking, child/animal death, eugenics, torture, abuse, religious motifs, insects, bioterrorism). Heavier content is tagged βthing cw.β I will block blogs that list themes commonly found in Resident evil or Wesker as a character as triggers for your safety and my comfort. Mun β muse. Iβm a writer only and I will not tolerate any form of mun-bleeding. Please do not interact with this blog if you cannot seperate fiction from reality or mun from muse.

GENERAL. This is a private and selective blog, unaffiliated with the RE fandom/RPC/Capcom, etc. Feel free to follow if interested, and I'll check you out ASAP. If I do not follow back, please do not take it personally. I soft-block blogs I will not follow, and I request the same in return. This said, it may take me a few days to check you out, so please be patient if you're interested.

AFFLIATED. Please do not be intimidated by my decision to have and showcase affiliates on my blog. These people are my friends and people who have actively engaged with me RP-wise. I enjoy promoting their blogs. There is no elitism involved, and anyone can be affiliated with me if they express interest and show they want to actively write with me. I am generally a friendly, welcoming person. Do no harm, take no shit is a mantra I tend to live by.

GENERATIVE AI. I do not support Generative AI and I don't personally use it, but I'm not going to waste my time policing it. For me, Gen AI has advanced so much that I can't distinguish what is Gen AI and what isn't unless it is explicitly tagged/marked as such. Ultimately, I'm not going to spend my time trying to sniff out Gen AI. It is what it is and I have better things to do.

TAGGING. This blog operates under the assumption that all its viewers are mature adults who have consented to viewing mature and dark content and are capable of looking after their own mental and emotional health. You are welcome to poke me off anon in case I ever miss anything important, but I will never acknowledge anonymous requests or complaints from non-mutuals.

INTERACTING. Do not ever rush or push me for replies: you will be blocked. I find memes and asks to be the best way to begin interaction for me but I am not opposed to starter calls. I am very crossover, canon-divergence, and AU-friendly, and open to most fandoms, however I will be very cautious about animated/anime RPCs due to negative past experiences.

BLOCKING. I block liberally for my own comfort but this is almost never a personal thing.
With the introduction of the for you page, I sometimes block RP blogs suggested there to avoid confusion or accidentally interacting with non-mutuals if I have no interest in following the blog. Please donβt question or bypass a block. I will also block anyone who blocks me out of curtesy.

DUPES. I love duplicates, and those who write the same muses as me have excellent taste. However, I wonβt follow first and any mention of "dupe anxiety" is a hard block. Please DO NOT copy or reference anything from my blog without my explicit permission. This has happened a number of times, and none of you are ever as slick as you think you are. A lot of my writing and background for Wesker is my own invention and I've rewritten a lot of canon info, again do NOT take or reference anything from this blog, theft will be embarassingly obvious.

SHIPPING. I'm open to ships with chemistry and build-up. Shipping-only interactions do not interest me and you should never expect instant gratification when aiming for a ship with my muses. Moreover, I am not interested in dating my RP partners and shipping will not change this. OOC flirting, mun-bleeding and possessive behaviour will result in a big old hard block.

NSFW. This is a strictly adult-only space. 21+ is highly preferred. Minors will be blocked on sight. My tag for content of a sexual nature is βπΆοΈ π»ππ : usfwβ with explicit content typically placed under read more with a warning banner. I only write smut with mutuals and typically those I have discussed a ship with. I will NOT ship my muses with minors or underage characters ever; I do not care if you age them up, if they are canonly underage it is not happening.

DISCLAIMERS. I do not engage in drama, callouts, vague posting, or DNIs without proof of genuine harmful/predatory/bigoted behaviour. Iβm neurodivergent and disabled, and I have absolutely no spoons for RPC toxicity. Parasocial behaviour is not my responsibility. I don't care what kind of beef you imagine you have with me or anyone else, and I am very unlikely to add anyone to Discord or join RP groups as I've found writers to devolve into their worst selves there.

END. All content, graphics, icons, and PSDs are mine and created entirely by me. If we are mutuals you're welcome to reach out to me with any concerns you might have. If you are blocked by me do not contact me. Again, I am not interested in imagined issues or parasocial projections.

NAME. Dr. Albert Wesker.
ALIAS. Wesker.
BIRTHDAY. February 13th. 1960. βοΈ
PRONOUNS. He/him.
ORIENTATION. "Sapiosexual."
SPECIES. Human. Mutant.
HEADCANONS. Found here.

OVERVIEW. One of Umbrella's top researchers Dr Albert Wesker transferred himself to the Umbrella intelligence division in 1989. He was eventually planted into the military as a mole. Soon after, Wesker was made captain of the elite Police Force known as S.T.A.R.S and pronounced dead after a mission gone horribly wrong, This, however, couldn't be further from the truth.

RELATIONSHIP STATUS. Typically shipped with friends. I am not necessarily looking for other ships right now but if the right chemistry occurs I am not against it. As a note, I do not ship Weskennedy, and I will be incredibly selective about Chrisker, largely due to fannon mischaracterisation. Its antique toxic yaoi, not star-crossed lovers. I'm a big fan of Willsker, Wonsker and Weskella, but everything else is a case by case basis. Yes, I write Wesker as a disastrous bisexual; he is not necessarily "closeted", he is just extremely pretentious about it.

PORTRAYAL. My Wesker follows RE5 + the original games as canon. While I do have AU verses, Iβm an old-school fan and default to the classic characterization. I do not take or used anything from the RE4remake Wesker's voice, role, and personality remain aligned with the original RE4 unless plotted otherwise. Wesker is not a good person, and I have no interest in softening or sanitizing him. Mun β muse is non-negotiable. Please do not interact if you canβt handle this: I will block at the first sign of inappropriate or overly paranoid behaviour toward me or my muse. The mun is part of multiple minority groups and nothing like Wesker.

DIVERGENCE. My Wesker is voiced by Richard Waugh. Voice/mannerism references are available here. I donβt mind if you mentally default to D.C. Douglas, as his performance was based on Richardβs, but due to the controversy I choose not to support him. I wonβt judge others for liking his work. Please note: much of Weskerβs early-life detail on this blog is entirely my own invention Do not treat it as game canon or reuse it as such. Itβs very obvious when people mistake headcanon for source material: especially when their engagement with Resident Evil begins and ends with YouTube clips. Anyone whoβs played the games can tell.

AESTHETIC AND MOTIFS. Cold metal, polished leather, glass vials, the colors red, navy and black, snakes, worms, tentacles, cat eyes, glowing eyes, jaguars, blood, helix spirals, labs and associated equipment / imagery, demonic imagery, body horror, suits, luxury, the devil/lucifer, fallen angels, DNA, viruses, germs, black liquid, graphite, obsidian, corruption, the black pieces on a chessboard, surgical gloves, sunglasses, dark tinted lenses, fire, lava, molten gold, sulphur, velour, snake skin, silence, darkness and perfection bordering on the unnatural.

EYES OF THE DEVIL : MAIN :
This verse generally follows canon events on a plot by plot basis up until RE 5, where Wesker is not killed or infected with Oroborus. Instead, Chris Redfield, Sheva Alomar, and Jill Valentine manage to subdue him with the PG67A/W serum. Arrested and buried in a black-site prison, Wesker vanishes from public record. Years later, he resurfaces unseen: quietly released and installed as the true architect behind Blue Umbrella, guiding the anti-B.O.W. era from the shadows.
βͺ SUB VERSE: Generally follows canon events on a plot by plot basis untill his apparent death in 2009. This verse instead plays with the lore suggested in Umbrella corps. Wesker is secretly recovered in the aftermath of the Kaiju incident. Preserved and rehabilitated by Blue Umbrella in absolute secrecy, he survives what the world believed was his annihilation. Privately, Wesker consolidates power within the organization, becoming the legendary Blue Umbrella exeuctive.

RISE OF NIGHTMARES : PRE-CANON :
Pre-game canon verse. Usually following Wesker's time with the S.T.A.R.S. The Mansion incident events and mansion incident timeline and AUs set in that timeline will also fall under this verse. Canon divergence can and will occur on a plot-by-plot basis. Pre S.T.A.R.S verse is also available, following Wesker's teen years and his time as a researcher with the Arkley research facility.

THE DARK THAT FOLLOWS : RE8-AU
A simple post re5 AU that takes a completely different turn from my main verse.Though Wesker doesn't die in the lava of re5's volcano, he's instead dropped from the stealth bomber and disappears, never returning to the fight with Chris and Sheva and is presumed to have died. Mysteriously, Wesker turns up again years later in the Village region. He does not know how he got there or how many years have gone by since his defeat at the hands of Chris and Sheva.

THE MASTERMIND : DEAD BY DAYLIGHT VERSE :
Torn from the stealth bomber during the events of RE5, Wesker awakens in the Entity's Realm, a place in which he finds himself to thrive. With a razor-sharp intellect, enhanced reflexes, and a god complex the Mastermind stalks the Fog like a panther in a cage.

Little is known about Albert Wesker's early life something perhaps by design. Indeed, much of his origin has been deliberately obfuscated, hidden behind layers of corporate secrecy and hidden files. Facts that paint a picture far more disturbing than most could possibly imagine: Albert Wesker wasn't so much born as he was manufactured.Albert Wesker was one of the many children of Project W: a twisted eugenics plan orchestrated by Ozwell E. The purpose grotesque in its ambition: A dream to create a "superior breed" of intellectually gifted humans who would inherit the "new world" Spencer sought to rule over as a "god."Brought into existence under the cover of normalcy during the winter of 1960, Albert was installed into a simulated home life and given foster parents, Nathan and Diana Wesker. To the little boy, they were merely his actual parents. Brought up with high expectations, Nathan and Diana, who were both successful oral surgeons, insisted on perfection. The house was cold, clinical, and academically driven. Fortunately for them, Albert was superb. He was already tackling challenging math problems and composing philosophical essays well above his age by the time he was ten. His intellectual ability secured him a doctorate in biochemistry and virology at the age of sixteen β an act that drew Umbrella's attention immediately.Tragedy, or at least a well-planned accident, struck Wesker when his parents died in an odd car accident when he was fourteen. Orphaned but already independent, Wesker continued his education, and on the occasion of his seventeenth birthday, he was initiated into Umbrella's executive training programme: A rigorous and highly selective institution formed for the purpose of developing the next generation of Umbrella's intellectual elite. Here he first met William Birkin, a teenaged prodigy and the sole person Albert could have ever admitted to being his intellectual superior. In the next decade, Wesker's career in Umbrella accelerated. As proficient a leader as he was a scientist, in 1988, he was appointed to Umbrella's Intelligence Division, where he was tasked with handling clandestine projects and countering internal threats. The U.S. Army was interested in his work by 1991. Briefly, he was a consultant on bio-weapons and, more infamously, a double agent, secretly serving as a mole for Umbrella. In 1996, under the guise of civilian support, Wesker was introduced as Captain of S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service), an elite squad of the Raccoon City Police Department. All came to a head with the Mansion Incident during July 1998, when a field trip to the Arklay Mountains turned to disaster. Wesker had seen to it that his crew was deployed into a mansion overrun with Umbrella's nightmarish experiments in order to collect combat data to sell to a rival company, but events didn't entirely play out the way he planned. He was killed β or at least, that's what the reports say.In truth, Wesker had injected himself with a prototype virus developed by Umbrella and provided to him by Dr William Birkin as a hopeful failsafe. The virus activated only when Wesker found himself on the brink of death, much the way the G virus had done with Lisa Trevor previously, and when it did, he was reborn. No longer entirely human, Wesker emerged with superhuman speed, strength, regeneration, and an altered metabolism. His eyes, now slitted like those of a snake, glowed a molten gold: the undeniable mark of something which had shed its human skin. His resurrection changed him. Where once he had been an ambitious man, now he was something far colder. A baneful nihilist with wicked aspirations not unlike those which led to his birth in the first place. No longer believing in humanity's future, he resolved to reshape it, to forcibly evolve it β or destroy it.Over the following decade, Wesker manipulated events from the shadows. He used organisations like Tricell, the rival organisation, and researchers like Excella Gionne to further his goals. His endgame became clear in 2009, when he attempted to unleash Uroboros, a viral agent meant to exterminate the weak and leave only the "worthy" to inherit the Earth. But even gods fall. In March 2009, Wesker's plan was thwarted by Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar. In a final confrontation within the depths of a volcano, the man who once defied death was consumed by it β at least by all appearances. And yet, whispers endure... For a man like Albert Wesker, death may be little more than an inconvenience....

Below are the details of Wesker's history I've lightly rewritten to make sense of canon in the game that was not explained or just never seemed to make sense in the first place.

The mansion incident :
In 1998, Albert Wesker had entered talks with his long time partner William Birkin regarding leaving Umbrella, feeling the company was becoming more of a danger than a benefit, based on Wesker's close observations of Spencer and his suspicions that the mysterious man was planning something nefarious. In addition, William had his own conflicts with Umbrella as the executive board seemed keen on stalling and avoiding the promotion to an administrative position that Birkin had been owed and trained for most of his life. With Umbrella's orders for Wesker to lure the S.T.A.R.S into the mansion to gather B.O.W combat data and Dr. Marcus' unexpected resurrection causing a T-virus outbreak, Wesker decided it was time to act upon this instinct to leave Umbrella, though Birkin was still not ready. Undeterred by William's protest, the two eventually agreed that Wesker would lure the S.T.A.R.S into the mansion as Umbrella had instructed, where he would double-cross Umbrella by stealing the Combat Data. He would log the data and hand it over to the rival organization instead. Once he had secured his position, he would reach out to William, who would then join him upon finalizing his research into G. Unknown to Wesker, Umbrella's plans for him and William were already well in motion.During this time, William gave Wesker a sample of what Wesker believed to be the G-virus for safekeeping. Along with the "G-virus" sample Wesker was also given a record of William's research findings, expressing G's regenerative capabilities and the increased metabolic functioning of its hosts. G was to be part of a medical project that would be utilized to help the human race; combatting illness, disease and age, given its ability to immunize its hosts against infection, revitalize damaged/dying tissue and cells, and increase the host's overall biological performance.Once at the mansion, Wesker found the members of S.T.A.R.S to be easy prey for the monsters that had been unleashed, with most of them being killed quickly save for Jill, Chris, Barry and Rebecca. Brad, who had escaped earlier, was not considered a threat.Wesker lured the surviving S.T.A.R.S to the basement, where he explained his link to Umbrella and unleashed the Tyrant to do battle with the stragglers in order to obtain the Monster's combat data, his last task for Umbrella and finalizing his collection of data to steal for the rival company. With the peril to his own life obvious, Wesker had infected himself with the sample of the "G-virus" he was given before the confrontation in the basement, hoping to receive enhancements sufficient enough to take out the Tyrant once it was finished with the remaining S.T.A.R.S members, confident it would be the victor and knowing Umbrella had sent him on a mission he had little chance of surviving. However, immediately after waking, the Tyrant set its sights on Wesker and attacked him to his great surprise, impaling him through the abdomen. This was the final confirmation of Umbrella's betrayal, as it would appear the Tyrant stored in the basement had been programmed to single Wesker out among the rest of the S.T.A.R.S, the entire "X-Day" operation becoming apparent as a setup from the beginning.Wesker slipped into a death-like state and remained that way for a short while as the virus activated in his body, much the same way it seemed to have done in Lisa Trevor's body all those years earlier and saved him from death. Instantly Wesker attempted to access the computer to retrieve the data that he had been logging on the S.T.A.R.S struggle against the mansion's B.O.Ws only to find he had indeed been locked out of Umbrella's administrative account a whole 24 hours before he ventured into the Spencer estate with his S.T.A.R.S team.Umbrella was using him to gather data and intended for him to be killed along with the rest of the S.T.A.R.S upon the release of the Tyrant. However, in his escape from the mansion, Wesker quickly discovered that saving him from death wasn't all the virus had done.It had effectively made him superhuman, giving him strength and speed high above that of man and tyrant alike. Realizing Umbrella had made it easy for him to "fake" his death and that he no longer needed Umbrella's data due to his own condition, Wesker approached the rival company with vengeance on his mind and swiftly climbed their ranks.Unknown to Wesker, Umbrella's betrayal had been orchestrated by Spencer himself as a way to force him to infect himself with the progenitor virus to see if the last remaining Wesker child was capable of becoming the "Superior man" Spencer had longed to create. The old man's theory proved correct as reports of Wesker's survival and unique capabilities began making their way to Spencer's ears from spies within Umbrella's rival company. From then, all focus is shifted toward Dr. William Birkin and obtaining the G-virus for Umbrella's means.
PROJECT W :
PROJECT W was the top-secret plan to create "superior humans" who would share Ozwell E Spencer's ideals and accompany him into the "new world" he desired to create. The T-virus had been created and engineered to wipe out those Spencer deemed unworthy of his "new world", meaning, the vast majority of the human population would be exterminated by the T-virus and any remaining "unworthy" humans would be picked off by the B.O.Ws Umbrella had engineered with the virus. Moreover, Spencer's "worthy" humans could not simply be born. It was imperative that they shared Spencer's ideals and possess intellect and talent Spencer deemed fit for the "new world", pr they would be useless. In order to ensure a group of humans suitable for Spencer's world existed, they had to be "created", hence Project W was born. The project was "achieved" by selectively breeding hundreds of individuals of high intelligence with traits deemed desirable to Spencer. This was accomplished by seeking out attractive individuals who were either paid to participate, coerced, or forced. The resulting children were then taken by Umbrella and raised by surrogate families or by Umbrella run-orphanages, ensuring that Spencer's ideals would be instilled into the children's heads. The children's education was considered top of the line and again secretly provided and monitored by Umbrella and Spencer himself.Despite this, only 13 of the Wesker children made it into adulthood as "worthy" candidates and among these 13, Albert Wesker alone was considered the sole success. This gave Spencer one worthwhile human to take into his "new world" which had ultimately been an undesirable result as Spencer had been hoping for many "superior humans". Project W was hence considered a failure.Initially, it was discovered that the Progenitor virus was rumored by legend to have the ability to bestow selected hosts with superhuman powers. However, due to the hyper selectivity and unpredictability of this, it was near impossible to use for Spencer's means. This meant the Progenitor virus could not be used on Spencer himself and a more "controlled version" of this was not created until William Birkin's presentation of the G-virus.Spencer funded the G-virus project in the hopes of using the fruits of this research to prolong his own life and gift himself a form of "superhumanity", leaving all others to be killed and mutated into mindless monsters by the T-virus. This was only one of many side projects Spencer had dabbled in for those ends and why the G-virus was ever approved and the role it played in Umbrella and Spencer's ultimate vision. However, with the collapse of Umbrella Spencer would never achieve the means to save himself from his decaying, mortal body or create his "ideal" world. The damage done however would ripple throughout the world for years to come and manifest itself in many different forms, from Albert Wesker himself to the continued research into B.O.W and viral warfare.Albert Wesker was not infected with the "Prototype Virus", an enhanced version of the progenitor's type A strain developed by Spencer, until 1998. Given to him by William Birkin, under coercion from Spencer. Wesker was lead to believe the virus sample he had with him was instead William's prized "G virus", hence his trust in the sample. Unexpectedly one in billions, Albert Wesker alone was considered genetically compatible with the legendary progenitor virus. Once used in rituals to appoint "kings", likened to gods of the ancient Ndipaya Tribe in West Africa, Wesker is effectively the first and only of these mythical "god-kings" to exist in untold centuries.
One of the biggest points of canon divergence for Wesker in this verse is that Wesker wasn't mutated or killed, instead, he was subdued & detained by Chris & Sheva with the help of Jill & the PG67A/W serum. Since then, Wesker has been imprisoned & heavily monitored by the BSAA. He is not currently infected with the Uroboros virus.
The Mystery virus that Wesker is infected with is the G-virus, or at least it was initially. After years in Wesker's system, it's believed to have mutated. Despite multiple tests over the years, however, the virus inside Wesker has not been identified & any attempts to extract & utilize it have proven unsuccessful. It has destroyed any organic life it has come in contact with. Research findings on Wesker & his viral biology are still inconclusive.
The details of Wesker's captivity are unclear. There have been rumours that he was killed. There was no trial prior to Wesker's imprisonment & he doesn't know the details of where he was being held. Needless to say, 12 years in harsh captivity have cooled off Wesker's "god complex" considerably.
Wesker is fitted with a small device embedded in his skin, located beneath his collarbone. Affectionately dubbed "the Jill treatment", It's a nasty little contraption that regularly injects him with a special compound created from the PG67A/W serum. This "poison" serves to keep Wesker's power's dulled. Though Wesker is far from being placid or harmless in this state he is more manageable. However, even with his superhuman abilities dulled Wesker is an expert hand-to-hand combatant & marksman. As a precaution is not recommended that anyone without expert-level skill & experience handle him. Beyond this, Wesker is also fitted with the standard means of subdue & control as other B.O.Ws.
Due to the continuous poison running through Wesker's system he is often fatigued, dizzy & nauseous. Headaches are frequent & his vision has been heavily affected & reduced. He has been supplied with subscription glasses to combat unclear vision. It is believed this particular side effect is a result of Wesker's pre-existing vision impairment when he was still human, he also suffered mild photophobia. Its believe this was the one negative side effect of the experimental performance-enhancing drugs he had been administered, unbeknownst to him, as a youngster as part of Project W.[side note: Project W is not a commonly known thing. There are few people who have any knowledge of this besides Wesker himself. However, it is possible high ranking members of the Anti-virus project are aware & information can be leaked within reason]
Despite his arguable mental instability Dr. Albert Wesker is an experienced & incredibly accomplished researcher. He is widely regarded as an idol among the researchers of the redeemed Umbrella, given it was his own anti-viral research that paved the way for much success in anti-viral countermeasures & the "redemption" of Umbrella itself. The current most effective tool against B.O.W & viral warfare is the "Anti-B.O.W. Arms Albert System Weapon Series", clearly named in his honour, developed by Umbrella in 2017.He is considered to be an excellent potential asset to Project Anti-Virus should his assessments run smoothly.
As of 28/01/2022, Dr. Albert Wesker has been promoted from patient to researcher. Being considered sable & rehabilitated via Project AV. A questionable decision that has caused much discomfort within the AV community.
